We Were Friends

Alternative power-pop-rock group We Were Friends is Clay Swanson (Vocals, Guitar), Mireille Cumine (Vocals, Bass Guitar), Amanda René (Drums), and Maximillian Foerster (Guitar, Keys). The Edmonton based band formed in the late fall of 2013 and are already carving a name for themselves in both the Edmonton music scene and throughout Canada.

"Never explain, never retract, never apologize. Just get the thing done and let them howl." - Nellie L. McLung

Reminiscent of its namesake, We Were Friends hit the ground running and released their debut EP ‘Let Them Howl’ the following summer of 2014. The album showcases an energetic yet deeply emotional alternative sound, from their explosive single 'Waves' to the sombre tune of 'Pitter Patter.' Floating in between intimate folk melodies and driven guitar hooks, We Were Friends is the culmination of unique life experiences, redolent memories, and a promise for future adventure.

We Were Friends have since been hard at work promoting their EP, consistently playing shows, local festivals, and most recently embarking on a cross-Canada tour in the summer of 2015. They've played alongside such acts as Rah Rah and Peak Performance Project winners Derrival and The Royal Foundry and an abundance of talented bands across the country. The energy, creativity, and passion We Were Friends puts into every aspect of their craft persists without sway as they enter the next chapter of their adventure in 2016.
